Science Team Meeting

June 7-9, 2005 – The NASA/USGS invasive species project will hold its fifth science team meeting in Fort Collins, Colorado in June. The meeting will take place at the USGS Fort Collins Science Center and Colorado State University's Natural Resources Ecology Laboratory. The meeting will be hosted by the USGS National Institute of Invasive Species Science.

Guests will include colleagues from the USGS Fort Collins Science Center, National Institute of Invasive Species Science, Colorado State University, the Natural Resources Ecology Lab, Mississippi State University, USDA, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, other NASA Centers and NASA Headquarters.

Agenda

At this science team meeting, preview V2.0 of the Invasive Species Forecasting System, associated documentation, and initial data sets will be delivered to USGS. Team members will provide a comprehensive briefing on the current state of the project and map out next steps. In addition, partners will report on their progress on work relating to NASA's Invasive Species National Application. Two days of formal meetings are planned for Tuesday and Wednesday, June 7th and 8th. The third day, June 9th, will be an ecological field trip in Rocky Mountain National Park. The field trip will be guided by Dr. Tom Stohlgren.


Travel Arrangements

Attendees are responsible for making their own travel arrangements. A block of rooms has been reserved at the government rate at the University Park Holiday Inn under the name “USGS-NASA”. Please call the hotel directly at 970-482-2626 to make reservations. The block will be held until May 6, so please call soon to make arrangements.
